LEST WE FORGET : On Sunday, September, 23rd the Tigers lost a gut wrenching split double
header at home to the Twins. Most Tiger fans were miserable, I know I was. But, not for
long! THEY CAME back!
AND LAST NIGHT, OCTOBER 1, 2012, THEY WON THE CENTRAL DIVISION CHAMPION SHIP 6-3 over the
KC Royals, which made it 5 in a row over the hapless Royals.
Justice was served. It was these same Roiyals who spoiled many late year runs by the Tigers.
REMEMBER? I do.
Now the Tigers turned the tables by winning back-to-back Central Titles, a feat not accomplished
by the Tigers since the 1934-35 teams! That’s 77 years folks. Most of us can’t deven remember
that far back. I was six years old, O’ boy.
Contrary to many reports, the Tigers will open the post season play at home. Last year it was
the Yankees that we sent home crying in their sour milk. It could easily happen again. At any
rate we’ll have JUSTIN VERLANDER waiting for them…then MAX SCHERZER…and then DOUG FISTER.
Did anyone notice the fantastic glove work that OMAR INFANTE turned in at second base over the
past two weeks? While others struggled defensively OMAR came up BIG TIME. He easily earned
our BLUE STAR DEFENSIVE AWARD…with AUSTIN JACKSON right behind by a thread.
And then there’s our GOLD DUST TWINS…MIGUEL CABRERA and PRINCE FIELDER. They both hit giant
homeruns and then sealed it off with four hits each last night. WOW! I just can’t help but
have dreams of JACKSON, DIRKS, CABRERA, FIELDER and MARTINEZ next year with a top five starters
of VERLANDER, SCHERZER, FISTER, SANCHEZ and SMYLY WOW AGAIN!
MVP ? Our two cents points at MIGUEL. But, then again there’s two big games to go. While
our big guy was picking up four hits last night SO WAS TROUT! This kid acts like he might be
a relative of our very own big PAUL “DIZZY” TROUT. He just won’t go away. Whatever happens
our money is on MIGGS to take the TRIPLE CROWN, which hasn’t been done since YAZ did a couple
of centuries ago!

Hey Bobby: While passing out the kudos for the Tigers second consecutive Central Division titles save a couple for Mr. Dombrowski, who filled critical spots in the roster and Mr. Ilitch for giving him the bucks to do it—-and another for Jim Leyland, who has taken a lot of heat and second guessing all season—-but has held firm on the wheel and brought the boys back again to the “big dance”!!
Go Tigers! Go all the way!!
Here’s my prediction: Anibal Sanchez will come up BIG for the Tigers in the ALDS, ALCS, and the World Series. Wait and see!
