THE MYSTERIOUS TRADE OF PUDGE

For a fact WBWF has found out through our Tiger scource that certain
members of the Tiger’s management team are still seething over the
arguably worst trade in Tiger history. It happened on JULY 30, 2008 when
we traded hall-of-fame catcher “PUDGE” RODRIGUEZ to the Bronx money
changers for KYLE FARNSWORTH, who at one time was a Tiger and failed
miserably on that occasion also.

Let’s look at this deal more closely. At the time of the trade PUDGE was hitting
.295 with 5 HR and 32 RBI. With two more months to go he would easily have
finished hitting over .300 with 10 HR’S and with at least 50 RBI’s. A Detroit Newspaper
at the time graded RODRIGUEZ as follows: DEFENSE A, HITTING B, HEALTH A,
THROWING A, RUNNING B and ATTITUDE A+ !

Today he labors for Washington hitting .322! We can’t help but compare that to our
present catcher’s measely .170! And he’s in excellent health. When he originally
signed with the Tigers he did it at a time when other free agents were thumbing
their noses at us. He opened the flood gates for other stars to follow. Without him
the Tigers WOULD NOT HAVE GONE TO THE 2006 WORLD SERIES!! AND LAST YEAR
THEY MOST LIKELY WOULD HAVE GONE TO THE SERIES AGAIN!!

Talk about your terrible deals. And yet the Detroit media is very quiet about this
injustice to the TIGER NATION. There was absolutely no reason for this deal to go
down. Yes, his salary was $13,000,000. Chicken feed to what it cost the team in
not having his leadership and stature behind the plate directing our pitching staff
through thick ‘N thin.

Today he would once more be successfully leading us onto great victories as he is
with Washington. As certain members of the Tiger’s brain trust still gnash their teeth,
we can only ask…WHY? Why was this horrendous trade ever made? The answer…

today their fears are being justified as we can only tearfully look at what PUDGE
is doing with the young Washington Nationals
