The following is the last part of an inside & personal look at the Tiger’s rookie second sacker,
SCOTT SIZEMORE, as written by his good friend, BOBBY HOEFT II, owner and manager of THE
GRAND SLAM BATTING CAGES in Chesapeake, where both SCOTT & BOBBY make there home.
“SCOTT went off to college at VCU. The same school as Tiger 3rd baseman Brandon Inge. Coach
Paul Keys had the pleasure of having SCOTT play for his team. SCOTT says that the best thing
that coach did for him was fix his throwing. SCOTT would fly open with his glove side and lose a
ton of velocity and extension. Coach Keys fixed it and gave SCOTT the versatility to play the left
side of the infield. As for his hitting he says that he’s always been able to hit. Not much tinkering
with his bread and butter. Must be nice.
Now SCOTT is ready to embark on what he calls “my lifetime goal that is right in front of me.” He
is slated to be the starting 2nd baseman on opening day for our Tigers. He is spending time now
before Spring Training begins with his fiance and watching movies. He has already seen Avitar
three times.
I asked SCOTT who would he pay to watch play MLB and he said CRAIG BIGGIO. Biggio was the
guy he liked while growing up, but now he would like to be a hustler like CHASE UTLEY. Typical.
Classy hard nosed gamers. Just like SCOTT. Get ready to fall in love with this kid from Chesapeake.
He will carry the torch with class and pride and leave the field every day or night dirty and tired.
From a fans perspective you will know that he gave you his very best every day! What more
could you ask for?

Great Story, It will be exciting to watch Scott develop as a regular in the Tiger lineup.
Go Tigers!!

BOBBY HOEFT II did a fine job showing the family side of SCOTT. To bad the
Detroit Media hasn’t caught that side of him yet. We think this great young
likeable guy will be the Tiger’s second sacker for about fifteen more years.
The same for AUSTIN JACKSON and ALEX AVILA.
