When Baseball Was Fun

ABOUT THOSE WINTER MLB MEETINGS…

Much is being written about what the Tigers are going to do in
Indianapolis at the MLB meetings this week, however we have
not read anything about probably the biggest factor of all:
MIKE ILITCH IS 80 YEARS OLD!
Why is this a big factor? He wants to win a world series title
before he joins the angelic hosts of eternity…HE WILL NOT ALLOW
DOMBROWSKI TO SELL THE FARM FOR A BUNCH OF PROSPECTS!

To us this means that CURTIS GRANDERSON is untouchable and
that GERALD LAIRD might go because ALEX AVILA will be one of
the best catchers in baseball in 2010.
It also means that the price for EDWIN JACKSON will be steep.
Only if they receive a comparable southpaw in return will they
possibly trade JACKSON. A 14-16 victory lefty would look great
in the Tiger’s mostly right handed pitching starting rotation.

But beware…every move that DAVE DOMBROWSKI makes will be
closely guided by the heart of his boss…MIKE ILITCH.
