TRUCKS PITCHING HIS 1ST GAME IN BOSTON

First man up, JOHNNY PESKY hits 1st pitch for a single.
Second man up, BOBBY DOERR hits 1st pitch for a single.
Third man up, TED WILLIAMS hits 1st pitch for a double.
Manager, DEL BAKER now calls for time and strides out to the mouind.
He does not say a word to VIRGIL, but, instead turns to catcher, BOB
SWIFT and says: “Doesn’t Virgil have it today?”
SWIFT’S reply was short and sweet: “HOW THE HELL SHOULD I
KNOW I HAVEN’T CAUGHT A PITCH YET!”

YOGI BERRA once said: “So I’m ugly. I never saw nobody hit with his face.”

  1. I consider, that you are not right. Let’s discuss. Write to me in PM.

  2. SPARKLE…I have in my hand a letter written by the great VIRGIL TRUCKS’ long hand
explaining his first game in BOSTON. One cannot forget that Virgil’s one goal was to
bring a smile to baseball followers of today who need to smile more often.
