When Baseball Was Fun

The signing of AUBREY HUFF is just what the doctor ordered for the Tigers! What’s not to
like: the man has 72 rbi’s and that says it all. He will immediately take over the rbi team
leadership. And, his rbi’s come mostly in the CLUTCH!

Now there’s a switch for you. CLUTCH HITS are as scarce to the Tigers as a CLUNKER
is to getting good gas mileage! On Sunday alone it was like CUSTER’S LAST STAND with
runners on base just waiting for somebody to come up with a CLUTCH hit. JEEPERS
CREEPERS, HUFF would have had a field day.

However, we feel that there’s one glitch. The player being sent down, supposedly will
be CLETE THOMAS? This “ball gamer” has already knocked out many clutch hits, includ-
ing a walk off homerun, and covers the outfield like a gazelle with a sling shot arm.
So, why would the Tigers send him down rather than MARCUS THAMES?

Every Tiger fan loves Marcus, but c’mon, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME HE KNOCKED IN
A BIG RUN IN THE LATE STAGES OF A KEY GAME? We cannot remember one time this
year that he has done so….and that’s really the only quality that he has. In left
field every ball hit out there is an “adventure” or an accident waiting to happen.

Bottom line: AUBREY HUFF will love the Tigers and vice versa, but, sending CLETE
THOMAS down to Toledo is a big mistake. WE GAURANTEE IT..
