Tiger fans…we lost to Baltimore on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, by a 10-2 score which
should have been just opposite.
But, don’t worry about JARROD WASHBURN. He’s going to be a steady winning starter.
But, if you’re going to worry…worry about Marcus Thames. We ask you when has he
he ever come through in the gutsy clutch. Against Baltimore, it was the same old,
old story. He gets his hits when they really don’t matter. However, when the game
is on the line and he’s in a real “gutsy clutch” at bat…can you ever remember him
coming through? We don’t think so.
Here was a game when a little southpaw rookie was pitching against the daunting
right handed bats of the swaggering Tigers…and, what happens? Once more, and this
has been the same old story with these so-called daunting Tiger bats, instead of
jumping all over this kid and score about ten runs themselves, they act like pussy
cats up at the plate. What can Jim Leyland do? We think it’s time that he starts to
roar. We think it’s time for him to kick some butt. We think it’s time for him to call
a spade a spade with these million dollar bats and let the chips fall where they may.
C’mon Jim, the Central Divsion Championship is on the line!!
